We are delighted that Jürgen Jose, a former graduate, is returning to the School of Design. After working for Volvo, Geely and Kia, he is now bringing his expertise to the B.A. and M.A. in Transportation Design courses as a new professor.

After graduating in Transportation Design from Pforzheim University in 2008, Jose began his career as a designer at Kia Design Center Europe in Frankfurt am Main. He then moved to Gothenburg, where he first worked for Geely Design Sweden and finally for Volvo Cars. During this time, Jose focused on exteriors, but was also involved in design and marketing strategies.

In his teaching role, Jose will initially supervise project work that covers the entire design process – from concept development to implementation in 3D and presentation. From the summer semester 2025, he will also take over as head of the B.A. Transportation Design department. Jose attaches particular importance to a holistic education in which students not only learn to design vehicles, but also to understand and create mobility experiences. Because, according to Jose: “The design is basically just a manifestation of a whole idea.”

As a professor, Jürgen Jose particularly appreciates the exchange with students: “Working with young people who are eager to learn gives you a lot of ideas and creativity in return. I can learn a lot from that.” He studied in the same rooms 20 years ago. “Now I'm looking forward to being able to pass on my experience,” says Jose.
